Ponta do Sol Pier Viewpoint
With the hallmark of Engineer Tibério Blanc, the Ponta do Sol pier was built by the Municipality of Ponta do Sol in the years 1848 to 1850. The unusual character of its architecture is highlighted by the exacerbated Roman arch, entirely built in basalt, making clearly evident the concern of our ancestors in using the abundant natural resources, resulting at the same time in a perfect integration with the cliff and islet where it is erected.
On the footpath that leads to the small viewpoint, there is a restaurant that has the particularity of being suspended on the cliff, where you may enjoy a unique view over the Ponta do Sol beach.
Being a point of reference of the Municipality, you may say that this is a must-visit place for all tourists visiting the Municipality.
