Espetada (Beef on a Skewer)
Our celebratory meal!
No festival is complete without a butcher's stand that sells you the beef cut in big chunks, lends you a laurel branch skewer and allows you to grill your own espetada on the embers awaiting in a oil drum cut in half beside the stand.
The meat is flavoured simply with salt and maybe some garlic. No knife and fork needed, just some slices of rustic bread!
